  • Hi Liat! I am knitting a lace circular shawl (for my daughter's wedding veil - YIKES) and I am tired of Magic Looping on my 47" Signatures (yes...you totally turned me on to them). Can I just move on to Traveling Loop or do I have to wait until this becomes bigger? I think I can move on....just would love your expert opinion! (please say yes, please say yes) Lynn

  • @LRF965 Hey Lynn! Of course you can move to Traveling Loop if your needles, fingers, and intuition tell you that you're ready! The project only needs to be about 20 inches around to do Traveling Loop. And if it doesn't work, then you'll know you need to knit a little more before you're ready. PS you are so cute. PPS SO glad you love the Signatures!

  • This is great thank you! I don't really like using magic loop for a whole project, and now I know I don't have to!

  • @sydbap21 You're so welcome!

  • I've been using 2 circulars instead of dpns for a long time to finish a hat, mittens, thumbs, etc - wouldn't this one-loop-magic-loop work as well?

  • @623summer623 You'll need to pull out another loop eventually, and work in normal Magic Loop, to finish the hat, because as you have fewer and fewer stitches the one loop is going to get cumbersome and the stitches will get stretched. I use this method up until I start decreasing, and then I switch to normal magic loop.
