Northeastern University Libraries celebrated Boston's Latino community and history on February 12, 2009. The Libraries collection includes the records of La Alianza Hispana, Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, and the papers of Nelson Merced, the first Latino member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. This program featured Keynote Speaker Nelson Merced, Janet Collazo, Executive Director of La Alianza Hispana, and Vanessa Calderon-Rosado, Chief Executive Officer of Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción. Sponsored by NU Libraries, NU Residential Life, the Latino/a Student Cultural Center and the NU Office of Affirmative Action and Diversity.
