I bought this on eBay, for £17, bargain! I was expecting (well, hoping) it to be open rim, but it's box rim with jets and one slot on the right hand side, still, it's a nice pan.

It is a Twyford School toilet pan, made on 1 March 1998, and has the older Twyfords print on the S trap, and "TWYFORDS ENGLAND" underneath on the sump. It is about 31cm high.

I was actually thinking this was going to be something like 2007, but as I opened the box, I noticed the logo on the trap. It also looks like a more older styled pan, with the exception of the inlet (Only allows the finned plastic flushcones) and the pedestal.

I would have bought an older pan, but for £17, I thought I might aswell.

Anyway, first it's set up with the low level Elan and it's original syphon set to 9 litres. I like the sound, it swirls too due to the single slot on one side of the rim. I put The Beva there to compare the difference.

Next it's on the Regal, with a Freeflo 6 litre syphon. As you can see, it wasn't so good. Too short. So I put in the Wirquin syphon set to 9 litres, much better! I love the sound, and the second flush is foamy as I put a drop of bleach in the water to freshen it up.

Enjoy!

  • Can you also make a video of all toilets there?

  • Shall do, I'll try get each toilet connected to the supply before I do that, if not I'll manage it.

  • I remembered seeing a child sized toilet before. At the local airport in one of the family/disabled toilets. I think the library has one too.

Too bad I didn't get a pic of any of them.

  • I'm not sure why a library would need one, but the airport one makes sense, especially being the family toilet cubicle.

  • Wow! Very powerful flushes. They almost reach the top and nearly completly flood the whole toilet.

  • Yup! Due to the size of the toilet pan, and because it swirls. If it didn't swirl, the water would be jetting straight down the sump of the toilet and wouldn't fill up as much.

  • I think I kinda like toilets that nearly flood the whole toilet, as well as high levels.

  • The library has a family washroom.
