Riguardo la canzone...

Estranged è essenzialmente un pezzo d'amore, per quanto triste questo amore possa essere. È spesso messo a confronto con November Rain, per le tematiche, la lunghezza e la presenza di spicco del pianoforte nel brano (cosa non usuale per un gruppo hard come i Guns N' Roses), che esegue anche un assolo. Anche i riff della chitarra portano a cercare un confronto tra le due canzoni. In realtà, sebbene November Rain sia indiscutibilmente più famosa, Estranged risulta essere una delle canzoni migliori di Axl Rose, cantante e frontman del gruppo. La sua struttura progressive, senza un vero ritornello, con molti riff diversi, e un più solido lavoro di chitarra, la rende secondo moltissimi superiore alla sua più nota controparte. In effetti, nelle note di Use Your Illusion II, Axl ringrazia Slash per i suoi riff killer. In ogni caso possono essere considerate i due lati di una situazione sentimentale.

"Estranged" is a song and music video by the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses, from their fourth album Use Your Illusion II.
"Estranged" is the longest song on Use Your Illusion II, and one of Guns N' Roses' longest overall. It has many verses, and no set chorus, as well as distinguished guitar and piano solos. Use Your Illusion IIs liner notes thank Slash for "the killer guitar melodies," which captured Axl Rose's vision. Slash has specifically stated that recording the guitar parts for this song was very intensive for him; he recorded it using a Les Paul Gold Top, using the rhythm pickup with the tone turned all the way down.
According to Slash, the song was written while the band was rehearsing for an extended period of time in Chicago. Axl revealed that he wrote the song during a more "bummed out" time in his life.

I love how ax goes all the way down and up from 141-146,he's the best,toaly unpredictable.although I admit he has lot of pride,but damn he needs to get the original line up,with the exception of adler,unless he has cleaned up and can play.GNR FOR EVER

@urische Yeah, they use playback. Because Axl is so talented that he has to use playback in order to say "on the keyboards, mr. Dizzy Reed". Also if they use playback why don't they use the track from the Illusion album? Instead they use some live track. Try this simple solution and then be quiet: the video and the sound aren't in sync! ;)
