With the release of Final Cut Pro X, Apple has adopted a new approach to exporting that will dramatically change the future of non-linear video editing.

When you're done creating a video, you can use the direct upload option within Final Cut Pro X to share it on Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube and CNN iReport. All Apple devices are also available as options to export to directly within Final Cut Pro X.

To export your video to a service such as YouTube, navigate to the top menu bar and click Share -- YouTube.

This will reveal the Publish to YouTube dialog box. You are first asked to add your YouTube account that you'll log in with and post to.

Then you can decide who will be able to view the post, which could be limited to yourself only, your contact or anyone. You can also include a description about the video and add tags.

Next, you'll choose the Size and Compression to export your video at.

Under the Advanced tab, you can set up Background Rendering or Send your video to Compressor, which allows you to take your footage and turn it into a much smaller sized file without losing much video quality.

Finally, Summary tells you everything you need to know about your video, such as the File Type, Estimated size and Width and Height.

When you're ready, click Next.

You'll see YouTube's Terms of Service, which you'll need to read over and authorize before you click Publish.

  • FINAL CUT PRO IS STUPID I EDITED A MASSIVE VIDEO IN THE TRIAL AND COULDN'T EVEN UPLOAD IT OR SAVE IT! FOR THE PRICE IT COSTS, ITS A PIECE OF SHIT..

  • @1wididy1 same with me it's making me really mad!

  • when i export it to youtube, it says "waiting" and never stops waiting. what went wrong? i don't get it

  • @22TRUEVISION TBH. I cant remember now, but saying that. what I did start doing is exporting for real time, the putting the video through a program called Handbrake. It helped a lot a upload times. Dont get me wrong, if you have a long HD quality film them it will still take a while but not as long as without Handbrake, if that makes sense.

  • When i export it, the processing bar comes up but then stops at the very end, help please
