On July 12, 2010, Warp Records will release ten new tracks by Autechre on a single compact disc and two separate 12" vinyl records. The release will be titled "Move of Ten", stylishly packaged by The Designers Republic and catalogued in the Warp discography as WAP505.

"y7" is the second track on this new record and if its greatness is representative of the rest of the ep/album then we definitely have something good to look forward to.

  • I feel like a lot of the comments on here aren't even about the same song I'm hearing. Minimalism? Trance? Seriously, are you really listening to it?

  • This is how i see it.

You either hate this or you love it!

I really don'y enjoy autechres newer work =/ sadly.. but they have evolved beyond anyones imagination and that's a good thing, this really is at it's peak of contemporary electronic music

  • Am I only one who get's headaches listening to y7? I love it, but with my headphones encasing my ears, it's like temporary tinnitus, in a good way, sort of... My vision get's screwed up too, what the hell is going on?!

  • I hate that people still say that autechre is "experimental". I mean, how can they be experimental after 24 years? maybe they were experimental once, but their style is solid now. And it doesn't even have a name... they control their own world. Go AE! amazing track btw

  • @Fatcaesar That might just be true, he! They are pretty modern. As maths ort quantum physics or jazz perhaps.

  • @peoplethought Dude, it's for a sure a play on minimal but with their unique take. Some say that they go into their own world and don't follow trends but I think that they comment on them. This tune, at least to me, is an example of that. It follows the structure of minimal but bends it way out of proportion into their take. They know electronic music amazingly well and have been inspired by so many styles. Anyway, BOOYAGH!

  • @peoplethought keep in mind peoplethought....a lot of folks dont get it. its for you to enjoy, not up to you to help others enjoy. if that makes any sense.

  • Pixel snakes slithering on a LED display.

  • @peoplethought You are so correct.

This music challenges many recent conventions with regards to electronica.

    That why I love it.

Most people need to slap the monkey with a label.

  • when i listen to autechre i feel like someone is punching me in the face .... and i love it

  • Sounds like AE liked the Analord series...

  • this song is growing on me
