Technically, it is the other way around. Danny Boy was written and published in 1913 and was based on an old Irish Folk Song called Londonderry Air. You Raise me up was also based on the Old Irish Folk song, Londonderry Air, but was written nearly a century later.

Plus it isn't the "phoney camera work" that's important, or how bad they are compared to someone else. Maybe they weren't trying to sound like someone else, or imitate them. Life isn't a competition. The first singer's too nasaly...he kind of swallows his words. I definitely agree with most people here...this peice was not meant for their style. It's so much better with an operatic tenor and vibrato.
