It's such a shame this album seems to have been completely overlooked. I love it.

It's difficult when people are dying around you. Caroline lost her mum two years ago, and her dad recently and although they aren't my parents, it does affect you, big time, especially when you see what your partner is going through. We lost our gardener, a good friend of mine lost his wife - a lot of death, I'm afraid. So you see with the lyrics, 'Hey Andy' - 'When I die you'll be waiting for me', I'm trying to gain some understanding of it -- Roland Orzabal

This song is soo addictive!!! As is Ticket to the World :D mmmmm :)
-
I read in an interview that it washeavily influenced by the deaths of people he knew... I believe Caroline's father and someone else... :)
-
Good question - I've been thinking about that for years.

Who is Andy, does anybody know? What's the story? somebody who died? "When I die you'll be waiting for me..."

TSO is a great album - Low Life is great, plus the entire second half is very strong. I missed this album when it first came out in 2001, just discovered it this year, really glad I did. I don't see any videos of Orzabal performing the TSO songs live, too bad.
