Ah, I didn't know that. I understand why those four corners are part of the trademark, but for the specially themed editions, I wouldn't mind seeing an updated version of those four corners... they wouldn't have to change from special edition to special edition, but for all special editions they could use the same updated look.

Problem being that, you can't. Anyone may make a themed Monopoly game, as long as you make a quality product. But, you may NOT change the four corners, and a few other things. It's a trademark matter, one of the things that make Monopoly what it is, and so, something Hasbro HAVE to he ironclad on, or they could loose their trademark, which is worth a few cents...
