now as i go down to the parade i take the #1 train from 191 to 59th street with an original intent to RFW the entire way down but when the second car was empty things immeditally changed which include a rareity for me commentary on the subway. between 191 and 181 i am the only one in the car but by 96th street it is standing room only seeing as 59th is a local on the broadway 7th avenue line . this segment of the line was part of the original IRT line beginning at city hall running up the present lexington ave line (4,5,6) and turning and crossing town at 42nd street and running up the west side on the broadway 7th avenue line (1,2,3) to 145th street.an extention to 242nd street in the bronx was completed in 1908 except for 191st station which opened in 1913 becasue of an elevator install which was required at the station seeing as its the deepest in the system
