It is so true that personal disclosure is a key to self-acceptance. I revealed something personal to my father that I had been ashamed of for a very long time. After I said it out loud to the person whose love and respect I valued the most, I found that I accepted myself more. The The great thing I realized is that my acceptance of myself had less to do with him and more to do with the fact that I had been true to myself.
