The cruelty of Darwinian naturalism, predators like the Pit monster that feed on the turtle like hairy anthropods that are shivering with terror to survive. This creature is similar to one in SCI FI episode of the 1960s THE TWILIGHT ZONE. Great film that was a bigger budget, developed version of ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS. The Reptiloid alien was loosely suggestive of Muslims and Islam, at least some critics made that assertion for their Abramic like war religion.

Ok, you figure that critter would have known to stay away when you see all those shells and bones around the pit.

@watchensee Imaging having the pit monster for a pet. It knows you and won't eat you, but you can feed it whoever douchebag you don't like.

@KrautGoesWild Yep. Visited there in 1991 on a school trip. Fabulous stuff. Not just Enemy Mine but props from Neverending story and Das Boot, including the submarine conning tower used in Raiders. Great stuff.
one of the most underrated movies EVER!!! Thanks for posting...a time when special effects didnt replace a great storyline...what do you think?
