I think this student is doing a good job of moving consciousness in the direction of connection. The cops don't realize that they support a system that oppresses them too. People have more in common than they do differences.

Firstly, protesters will never end a war, so stop jerking off. Secondly, without police (and weapons to protect themselves) there is anarchy. That's pretty much the definition. So either go back to 1977 London, or get a real job.

those cops showed up with weapons specifically to hurt people who were there to oppose a war that has claimed over 600,000 lives so far, and they used them on us, cause they wanted to, and i'm sure they enjoyed it, thats what these "people" live for. as well as hating the institutions they are a part of i also hate them each as individuals

anyone who takes up weapons for the purpose of patrolling communities to enforce the status-quo (authoritarian capitalist exploitation,racism,poverty,patriarchy,ecocide,ect.) with violence and coercion cease to be of 'the people' and are a separate institution held over and against 'the people' and unlike Iraqis or others that are dehumanized, cops CHOOSE to be cops, they do it cause they like it, and in doing so they dehumanize themselves

asking a cop to put down their weapon and engage in some kind of dialog is like asking a turd to flush itself. They are completely brainwashed and cannot be reasoned with, the only thing they understand is a rock in the face.

I love how this "enlightened" student speaks authoritatively about knowledge he cannot possibly possess. Smug declarations which utilize racism as cudgel to beat on whole institutions (in this case, the military) are neither coherent, nor are they backed up with facts. Racism exists everywhere around the world down through history and that's one of the reasons it's hard to use it as an empirical explanation for anything.

Sounds like bikers. Why hang out in cop bars anyways? Maybe he really thought the guy was messing with him. Maybe he was. You said he got his ass handed to him. The cops here in the city will beat your ass if you mess with them. I just do not screw with them and I advise others to be respectful but they do see alot of pointless crap every day some are probably hard cases.
