Beyond Fitna - English version [Part 1/2]

The documentary "Beyond Fitna" will be posted on the Internet today.

The film, which was directed by a group of Iranian filmmakers and produced by the Islam and Christianity Nongovernmental Organization, is a response to Dutch politician Geert Wilders' anti-Islam documentary "Fitna".

The film honors all monotheistic religions and gives a response to the anti-Islam propaganda of Western extremists, the NGO's spokesman, Mohammad Karimi, told IRNA on Tuesday.

He said that the documentary was produced under the supervision of a group of religious scholars and Iranian professional documentarians in the English, Persian, and Arabic languages.

The film "Fitna", which blasphemously claims that Islam's holy text promotes violence and intolerance, was posted on the Internet on March 27 after television networks and cinemas refused to screen it due to the controversy and the protests of Muslims, Christian communities, and the European Union.

The title of the film "Fitna" is an Arabic term used to describe "disagreement and division among people".

why is it a racial issue just because one wants to maintian their culture ... all of Europe will be an Islamic state eventually at this rate period ! Do you honestly believe when they are in power that they will show the same consideration for us as we have for them ... oh and I hope all of the women out there are ready to cover up and stay home. By scaring us to not speak up because of fear of being called racists the biggest restriction of equal rights is going to happen in the future.

Well, explain the intolerance of the islamic religion ans its leaders. Intolerance is a crime must be foughted with education. Relgions are intolerant, any women should wear burkhas

Would anyone believe this propaganda. No matter how good the Muslims paint of their picture, their words and actions reveal what they truly are. Geert Wilders is right, Islam would never peacefully co-exist with anyone. And i will hazard to add, even among themselves, it will always be a progressing story of holocaust of one muslim tribe to another, and another, and another. And afterwards the subjugation of non-christians as their slaves or minions.

@gjsterp The problem is that they don't want a reformation, they want to spread this backwards filth around the world.

Why don't you read the Koran and see. It orders to kill apostates (people who convert from) harass and terrorize non believers or make the pay protection it's called Jizya

Koran verse 9:5 orders them to kill all non-muslims.

Koran verse 9:19 says it's more important to fight in holy wars than to give charity and aid to the poor.

You can't reason with a rabid dog.

@rrtodd95 All too true, but things are changing. The Muslims need to have a "Reformation" of their own.

Hopefully they will come out of the Dark Ages of religious thought and oppression.

We have to help them do that. Not with bombs, but with reason..

@gjsterp What I believe is that in Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, Bahrain, Brunei, Malaysia, Yemen, Somalia, Morocco, And United Arab Emirates it is illegal to leave Islam and punishable by death, state sponsored harassment of non-muslims is encouraged, and slavery is legal.

There are more slaves in Somalia than ever existed in the entire European slave trade history combined. That is a fact.

Free speech is unheard of and women and non muslims have no rights in all muslim states

Many Muslim countries have enjoyed a great amount of Westernization.

Some are quite wealthy, though the wealth is not being spread around properly.

With Westernization comes new ideas. Many people in these countries are beginning to see their Muslim laws as outdated. It will be interesting to see what direction Egypt chooses for itself.

But they ( all of Muslims inferred ) do not destroy "everything."

@gjsterp Yes but the Christian world had it's Renaisssance from the 15th century to the 17th century where arts, science and medicine flourished.

Islam should be smack dab in that time by your rational but all their doing is destroying everything.

Censoring criticism, torturing and murdering people who disagree. Numerous muslim countries have state sponsored pogroms encouraging violence to force non-muslims to leave or convert.

It might be good to look at all religions as a "living entity" since they are made up of "individual beliefs." One Christian might accept evolution, another may not.

No Christian believes that the sun revolves around the earth any longer, as ALL believed until the 15th century..

These individual beliefs changed over time, as people became educated.

Science has destroyed many Christian beliefs over the centuries, but the present Christians are not aware of them, or discount them.
