The Berlin reading stages are weekly off-shows that put read stories on display for a large audience. This kind of literary entertainment has gained increasing recognition and has been spreading for many years. The German student Balou Jean-Niques from the Ivory Coast was invited to read his texts in shows in Berlin in January 2010. And after coming home to Abidjan, he has co-founded the reading stage, the Free Feather.
This documentary shows the creative cooperation of Berlin bohemians and young Africans. It captures the joy and hopes aswell as pains that emerged in the process.
