From "The Sum of All Fears". The best scene of the movie. Too bad this song is NOT on the soundtrack! It's the best version I ever heard of the American National Anthem

  • damn this guy would be perfect to perform at the superbowl, and the background music was awesome too.

  • The german title of the movie is so lame...

Translated to english it would be "the attack" or maybe "the assault". :(

  • One of the nicest guys I've ever interviewed! His latest album, Soon As I Get Paid, is a phenominal album! Not a bad song on it!

  • Does anybody know where this song can be downloaded?

  • best representation of the national anthem i have ever heard, i wish there was a full version of this..

  • @jamestparshall That caught me as well. "When our cause it is just" is better because it implies that we fight only when absolutely necessary to protect freedom and liberty rather than "for our cause it is just," possibly referring to all the unnessesary wars there have been in recent history and saying that the cause IS just when it isn't!

  • They need to get McCuller and have him do the whole thing at the superbowl, complete with the drums accompanying him. Would probably be better than the actual game and 99% of the commercials bare minimum.

  • i have heard so many people try{and fail miserably} to get any kind of rise out of me when singing this song. but it wasn't until i heard it being sung by Arnold McCuller, that i was able to absorb the full impact of the significance of the song. my hat goes off to this gentleman. kudos to you....and thank you for singing this song the way i believe it was intended to be sang!

  • @ rebeccaarroyo -- If you're a purist you should feel good; this IS our National Anthem. Our National Anthem has 4 Stanzas, but most only know the first. This is the second half of the 4th stanza, so as a purist you can feel good that he's not taking liberties at all with the song, but singing a part most have never heard.

  • I'm pretty much a purist when it comes to the national anthem and I really can't stand when people take liberty with different arrangements - really just cuz they all suck. But I gotta say I love this, and wish I could hear the whole thing - it gives me the chills every time!
