This lesson is part of a series: 2020 Build Your Own PC: Components, Install, Setup
Overview:
In this lesson, we'll cover both CD, DVD and Blu-ray drives, both readers and recordable drives, what features and specs to look for when shopping, and how much you can expect to pay when building your own pc.
CD and DVD drives are the primary way to install operating systems like Windows XP, Windows Vista, programs and games onto a computer. They allow large amounts of data to be stored on a portable disk and read back in any computer. A Blu-ray drive is also an option.
This lesson is part of a comprehensive series of lessons created by Home PC Builder that will guide you through the process of building your computer (from the selection internal and external components through installation and setup).
You can purchase all 28 lessons in the course and save 46%.

What type of DVD drive is that on the right at 0:27?

@AngryFatElf It is a slot loading DVD drive. You don't see many of them around and I probably wouldn't recommend them.
