This is from an old build, I do not have a 50 Sage this build. However, the playstyle of the class has not changed much, this video is still pretty accurate.

Exactly, though I think the item rating relative to your level gives improvements, or some such complicated workings.

Say a level 20 was decked out in epics, whereas a 45 was in blues. The blue gear would be higher rating overall, but not compared to the level of the character, so the person in level 20 epics would have a better stat increase.

If that makes sense.

@Throthgar Anyone under 50 automatically gets buffed to level 49 so the gear you have under level 50 doesn't give you much advantage over say a level 10 stat wise

I've played as a balance sage up to level 48 and recently respecced to the tk tree, I'm finding I'm topping damage by far but when I end up 1 vs 1 with a marauder in melee I'm completely fucked. Whereas with a balance sage you have sever force insta- lift and no cool down on telekinetic throw you dont have to worry about being faced in melee, but with a tk sage you're pretty useless unless you have your team to hide behind taking shots at the enemy team. Just my opinion from game play.
