  • Good luck, when is your selection date?

  • Thanks for that. It is on the 19th Sept. We will just have to see how it goes...

    James

  • What happens when the interests of York Outer fail to coincide with the party line?

  • I hope that never happens I manage to negotiate out of that situation!

However to answer the question properly depends on the interest. If it was something small and something big was coming up I would go with the party line to ensure bargaining power for the big thing.

If it was the big thing I would represent my constituents.

  • Well, friend, don't forget when you click to London, a good candidate will always click home again to help your constituents. You are from a part of the country that needs your help. Good to see you help St John Hospital. I may be wrong. I'm just some American in Australia +++ The Saint +++

  • Thanks for your support. If successful will always remember to help constituents, that is what the job is supposed to be.

I work at York St John University, but it is till a good cause.

    Hope you are enjoying Australia...

  • Good luck, I hope to be in that position one day!

  • Best of luck James. Your message is really resounding, I hope to emulate your prospective achievement someday.

  • If you need ideas for change, heres one: York should be made a much more important city, perhaps by increasing its economy to the size of leeds or acquiring grander administrative roles, such that it attains the status of Manchester, say, but does not sacrifice its beauty and charm.

  • Im a 2nd year economics York uni student, and I would agree that there is little to do in York if you are inclined towards loud, exciting activities and housing is expensive. Although, these are quibbles. I believe York works very well, as is evident in the lack of more pressing issues people may be complaining about (the largest on my mind is the extortionate fare they charge for the FTR uni buses!)

  • Good luck in York Outer James, having a good campaign for Labour makes a lot of difference to the area and creates the debate so lacking where Tory MPs hold seats. The area of York has a good sense of community and its people that matter. Only Labour remains the party that works for the good of all. Hopefully it will be James the MP one day.

  • I appreciate your effort, but in this world, unfortunatly people don't get where they are based on merit :(

Your in for a bumpy ride man
