Like I said above, Spider-Man teaser trailer was a year in advance. Same with this year's Star Trek.
Earlier this summer we had The Last Airbender and Toy Story 3 teasers out and they won't come out until next summer. So if it's a big enough "event" movie, it's not that uncommon.
The fact that the WTC is featured prominently in it definitely dates the trailer. I saw this in front of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, which came out in summer of '01.
Also was a teaser trailer for The Lord of the Rings which premiered in January of 2001, and the first film wouldn't come out until that December:

So, like I said, a year in advance is huge, but not completely unheard of.
