Today we're looking at a variety of products that are meant to improve your computer in a few different areas: performance upgrades, convenient add-ons, and aesthetic improvements. These are optional PC parts that fit into often-unused areas, such as open 5.25" optical drive bays and vacant PCI slots on the back of the case.

Paul has a pile of hardware to get through (as you can probably tell from the myriad links below), so view on to see if there's anything you might make use of!

  • I thought the thicker fans were only made for radiators, to sustain more stress..wouldn't use it for anything else but that personally

  • You have to wonder how much money is in that room, on that table???? /snatches all that stuff :)

  • @LtSurge659 I have two 320mm fans, one for intake and one for exhaust. On the negative side, my cat got sucked clean through my computer case. On the positive side, my shoes haven't been puked in since then.

  • Thick fan is for more air flow at lower RPM. I'd still go for the 200 mm. :)

  • @Chawwwwwley This is a very good explanation thank you, though my question to the company would be, why not advertise it in that way as opposed to the way they have? Just saying that the fan is "extra thick" is not a very attractive way to advertise in this particular case (pun not intended), most people buying for their computers want to know what they are getting for their money. When I first saw these my thought was a simple "Why?" which is not the reaction most companies want.

  • I'd like to see a review of various fans and rate them according to painless, ouch, that's gonna leave a mark, blood flow rate and now I can only count to 9.

It's funny they left the finger part in the fan in the final edit.

  • well done comment below as well the thicker fan, each fan blade has more surface area and produced more static air pressure i believe

  • Paul, with a thicker housing you can have more angled blades. Optimally you want 45 degree angled blades (of course compensating for the curvature) so you have the most amount of air moving into the case. Since the housing of the fan is thicker the blades can be angled more so hence can move more air with less noise and a smaller diameter fan. Essentially, assuming that this fan uses 35 degree curvature versus a 15 degree curvature of a regular 120 mm fan you have about 2 times the effectiveness

  • @LtSurge659 A lot of cases (full tower) use 200mm fans in the side or front.

  • @Roland0314

    Alright! That 200mm one then!
