@shairaptor Here in the Netherlands they see geese as pests and are planning to round them up and gas them. That is insane but they also kill wild hogs because they dig up gardens and are a so called traffic menace. We have a Party for the animals(partij voor de dieren) which is not as strange as it sounds as they are also concerned about humans and the environment and they are trying to prevent the geese slaughter.
@2zwaantjes Yes, geese are amazing. I truly adore them. They're very intelligent and social, also very entertaining and clever. I love to hang around geese often. They're magical enchanting birds. Glad you see it likewise. Poop, oh well we poop too, so, oh well.
Maria is so cute! I hugged a goose in a wildlife park for hours, too. Geese are highly intelligent and have an amazing highly developed social system and a great memory. Also they are very entertaining, and understand every word you say to them. A shame we don't understand goose language too much (we silly humans!) Looking forward to hug the goose in the wildlife park again! Peace and love! :)
What's happening with this story? Is Maria/Mario still at the zoo? Why can't Dominic see him every day at the zoo? Is it legal for Dominic to take the goose home with him?
Fantastic story, I hope Maria/Mario will be okay. Animals are amazing creatures.
\We have had Canada geese in our pond behind our house, we've seen them raise 4, 5 or 6 babies every summer. There is a lot more to them then you'd think. We watched them teaching the babies how to fly. It was absolutely awesome! It goes according to a very precise plan that is shown and explained to the babies, and executed in a manner you would not give any animal credit for.
It would be devastating to Maria if she couldn't visit every day with her 'friend' !
Would it be possible for him to bring her to another pond ? I'm sure she would go with him. I grew up with geese and know how they can have a quirky streak.
We had a neighborhood goose who decided that we were her caretakers. She
would jump each step [12] to come up to our deck, peck on the sliding glass door to feed her, and or visit. We called her Rosie, since her beak had a pinkish
