The Graveyard shift.

In 2000 Michael Quinion coined the graveyard shift as little more than "an evocative term for the night shift ... when ... your skin is clammy, there's sand behind your eyeballs, and the world is creepily silent, like the graveyard." Well, hes right! The www.stryxa.com 24 hour FIFA 10 World Record team sailed straight into that period sailors coined the graveyard watch as it is the time most shipping disasters happen.

Well for our www.stryxa.com gamers, it was a tough one as Victoria station emptied and their only company was two solo pigeons dancing across the open floor.

There were a few moments when eyes started to shut as the lads lay there cocooned in blankets and beanbags. However, they battled through sleep deprivation and came bouncing back early morning after most had taken 50 minutes for a snooze. The guys decided to mix it up a little and play two-on-two and then a winner takes all mini tournament. By 7am, everyones spirits and eyes had lifted as the end was in sight. Time to push down some breakfast and plough on through towards the golden prize of setting an Official Guinness World Record.

www.Stryxa.com, which has already had thousands of frenzied gamers sign-up before the FIFA 10 launch, gives players of the highly acclaimed football game the chance to compete online using PS3 or XBOX360 consoles in the first ever International league system. Members will be able to pit their skills against each other in an elite league to fight it out for the £10,000 prize fund.

And to celebrate, www.Stryxa.com has joined forces with global electronic games company and FIFA 10 creators EA SPORTS, and has found 12 avid FIFA fanatics from across the UK to battle fatigue to achieve the status as a World Record Holder. The 12 players, now down to ten, all started the challenge at the same time and will play for a gaming marathon minimum of 24 hours.

The survivors will be presented with a certificate for their achievement by Gaz Deaves, Gaming Editor of Guinness World Records 2010 Gamers Edition, where upon their name will go down in the history books.
