Economist Kaivan Munshi and Sociologist Nancy Luke discuss their research project on fighting TB in India. Their project aims to improve the success of TB patients completing their medication regimen by using community members instead of government or health workers to administer the treatment. Given current efforts to decentralize the health system in India and other countries, research aiming to evaluate successful community participation and understand its underlying preconditions comes at a particularly opportune time. This project is funded by NIH.
