Our Alaska Trip was my first big edit, so it's a bit rough. In hindsight, I should have edited it in reverse to show it in the same order in which the copper was processed. Tours start simultaneously at the top and bottom, and we started at the bottom first, so imagine the whole process in reverse. This is not the actual mine, it is the processing plant. Mining buckets came down on cables to be processed and loaded onto narrow gauge rail to the coast. Check out the kennicottlodge.com for the best accommodations.

They say that John Denver was filmed on those stairs for a TV special back in the 70's. I can't find a video or image of it though. Wrangell Mountain Song, or something like that.

No wonder Google put my marker in Alaska when I searched for Kennecott Copper Mine. We have one in Utah lol
