@manga12 Actually, Maltese is a pretty interesting and quite strange (for an Italian listener) language, there are certain similarities but it's different. It sounds almost like an Arabic/Southern Italian mashup for what I've heard.
Oh really I would have thought they spoke italian or a dialect much like they sicellians do. they are a very proud people, they have their own language and proud of the fact they were never conqured well till they were part of italy, even though many italians call them backwater hicks, the same is true for the sicelians saying the mainlanders are backwater. But I dont know.
@manga12 I think that the use of English language here is to help guests from other countries to understand what's happening. Also, the official languages of the Republic of Malta are English and Maltese: the (very few) guys from Malta I've known are able to speak Italian, but I don't know what people actually speaks in their daily life over there. About the tatami I agree with you, but maybe those are the only ones they had.
usually though tatami mats are used traditionaly for the floor, and if this is in malta which is close to italy why do they comment in english about what is being done?
