  • G'day, i go fishing a few times a year at lake mulwala but up yarrawonga side. Is there an specific lures that you recommend?? or just stick to bait fishing? i've caught dozens of bloody carp on bait and im sick of it cod seem the fish to get. so if you could give me any tips that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Jake

  • Gday jake

Murray cod are a very aggressive predator fish.Bait is ok if the fish is hungry and out looking for food,Though a lure swimming though there spot of water, pisses them right off,,they will strike.I do find Deep diving lures such as ore-gee ,codger, cod seeker lures in almost any colour is fine in Mulwala. If all else fails try Outlaw spinnerbaits:)

    Cheers:)

    Alan.

  • Gday Ben

Lake Mulwala is known for its big Cod,For bait fishing I would use tasty cheese cubes,The cod love it.For lure casting fishing you can't go past Outlaw spinnerbaits.Trolling I tend to always use deep diving codseeker or ore-gee lures, White body with red stripes always gets hits.Hope I helped.

    Cheers:)

    Alan.

  • I need a coupple of those lures to try for some big rock bass when I get back to the usa.

  • I have no doubt that Buckleys lures would go great on big ass Bass:)
