This is basically another unannounced collaboration with my buddy Jack Hicko. He sort of dropped the hint that this song is fun to play bass and flute on...came in LOUD AND CLEAR JACK OLE BUDDY! And so, Jak Wimmler has joined me on his flute while I play bass and percussion on Jack Hicko's own cover of Jeffrey Goes To Leicester Square by Jethro Tull. One of the greatest things I like about Jack Hicko is that he plays Tull songs that very few will attempt...My hat's off to him for that. Hope you enjoy this one. I wish I could have gotten a better audio mix but I was limited to using Jack's original video to build on. If his vocal had been on a separate track from his mandolin, I could have produced a better audio mix. I had to pull Jak W a little more into the background than I would prefer, but if I didn't his flute would have drowned out Jack's vocal which is difficult enough to hear anyways. Overall I think this turned out pretty cool. :D Hope everyone enjoys it, especially my buddy Jack Hicko! LC

  • I've got a name for us: Jethro Toe! (nobody else is using it) Okay then, how about "B" instead?

  • Well, if it was just ME involved here I could be called "Fat Man" or "Crosseyed Larry"...but in this case perhaps "Songs From The Hoods" would work? LOL.

  • HaHaHa!! Too funny!! Who would steal the candy from a laughing baby's mouth, Cross-eyed Larry...or...You guys could be dress up as rappers cruisin' in the forest, Let us bring you songs from the hood. But "Songs From The Hood" is the album, the band should be called...CROSS-EYED LARRY AND JACKS-IN-THE-GREEN!!!

  • Funny you should bring up Jack In The Green...that's Jak Wimmler's myspace screen name...HAHAHA. I should have thought of that one myself...dangit!

  • Hey! That is amazing guys. Really great work and the recording sounds A1, with a really nice ambiance.

    *chants*

    "Songs From The Wood"

  • Thanks nickeax...and I will chant right back at ya...

    "Already did SFTW"

"Up to my neck with TAAB"

    LOL.

  • really great !!!!!

  • Jack really should have recorded the mandolin and voice separately, not only for the sound quality, but for his performance. Otherwise, great job!

  • Wow excelent my friend Congratulations.

  • The mandolin is so pretty! :)

  • But I think Dharma For One was worth the money! Never heard a better sound from the "new" Lineup.

But you're right, everything else just as usual. As we say in Styria: "Eh scho wissn." :-) Freely translated: "Well, I think you know about it."

  • Wow~! How'd I miss this one!? Fantastic!!

  • Wow! You have just confirmed something that I have been struggling with - that being

You can't monitor OFF THE TAPE while recording to make sure everything is fine.

I have been corresponding with LC about recording but he has really nice equipment which I can only dream about at this point.

So keep up the good work!

I play guitars, bass and the hideous MANDOLIN!

40 years of guitars and now I'm learning mandolin - back to Mel Bay for all different chords.

    And teeny frets too.

  • Okay, just got back! It was pretty good, better IA vocals than I've heard in years. And Aqualung was not the encore! No white balloons. No phone call for "you". T-shirt and program look boring. I guess "40th anniversary tour" means the one after the 39th. (My Sunday Feeling, Nursie, Farm on the Freeway, Heavy Horses, Thick as a Brick, Aqualung, Song for Jeffrey, Locomotive Breath, Dharma for One, Bouree, Serenade to a Cuckoo, With You There to Help Me, We Used to Know)

  • Four days! (Greek Theater)

  • However... in just 17 days I will be seeing JT just right up the street from here!
