19 month old baby climbs out of crib.

Much to this mom's dismay, my 19 month old daughter climbed out of her crib after nap-time yesterday... and then I'm pretty sure lured her twin brother (4 minutes younger so there's that!) to do the same. I walked in and my baby boy was not happy - saying "BOOM!"

Baby girl (can I still call them baby at 19 mo?) on the other hand was happy as a lark, walking around the room pulling blankets out of drawers, reveling in her new found freedom and POWER! ^_^

I set up the camera to catch her in the act very next time-for-bed. This is what I found. Anyone else had a baby get out of the crib this early? My other two went 2.5 years before moving to big - girl - beds and never even attempted to climb out.

zoobaybee - wishing you patience as you navigate this curve in the road. ;) we stayed with the crib and just didn't make a big deal about her being able to get out and what do you know? we are still using our cribs!

with twins I was just not ready to move to twin beds for them. she occasionally climbs out to play at nap time and i just quietly go back in and put her in her crib and she goes to sleep. so thankful she is still safely loving her crib and her brother is too!

Don't have any advice, but our daughter climbed out of her crib for the first time in the middle of the night last night. She is 19 months old too. Funny thing is, she normally never climbs on anything.

@zoobaybee how are things going? still with the crib? we've hung with it and I'm glad we have. she pretty much stays in it till she's rested but then pop... out she goes. i keep a monitor on so always hear her right when she wakes up.

TIPS FOR PARENTS OF ESCAPING BABIES! My cousin had this problem a little earlier than she wanted and had a crib similar to this one. She just turned the crib around so the taller part was in the front! Downside is it only works with these sort of cribs but give it a go.

19 months old kinda old for crib..my 18 month old sleeps on a toddler bed from 15 months old. he never climb out of crib.i just think the crib was to boring.the bed makes him get off and fine.and play in his room.cute baby girl.
