  • 1030 with light out?

  • If you mean daylight, it stays light late into the night during Alaska summers.

If you mean headlight, I think it's because they are arriving at the depot, and they also (if I remember right) were meeting a gravel train.

  • @mrlrrconductor Thanks, I didn't know that, it puts the 30 in P-30!

  • @peterandben They had one GP30, #2504 they sold it for scrap many years ago, the trucks are under the HEP power car in this video, and the prime mover and all that was sold to Western Rail Inc.

  • @mrlrrconductor GP30? They had one? When did they get rid of it?

  • I miss ALASKA

  • Cool shot! It sounds like it's rolling over broken glass. Good Catch

  • Yes that is power care #P-30, It is an ex Amtrak E8B. The ARR took the 3 axle trucks of and placed the Bloomberg "B" 2 axle under it, the trucks came from the ARRs lone GP30 when they scraped it a few years ago.
