Spectacular views of Aoraki Mount Cook, New Zealands tallest mountain, and the surrounding National Park / World Heritage Area make The Hermitage Hotel one of the worlds most stunning destinations

  • Hey Joesnow1! It's always great to hear from people who have a special connection with our place. I'm wondering if you have been back since the Sir Edmund Hilalry Alpine Centre opened in late 2007? -it's a fitting tribute to such a fantastic kiwi as you mentioned his humanitarian efforts were arguably even more epic than his conquering of Everest! Hope to visit Scotland some day -looks amazing :)

  • Ah fantastic memories of a few visits to Mount Cook Village

Climbed Mount Olivier, Ed Hillary's first ever ascent from which he went onto greater things, none more so than all his efforts building schools, hospitals, airstrips, health centres etc in Nepal.

One of the most stunning places to stay in the world. It was a pleasure to fall asleep and wake up in stunning weather conditions at the Mueller Hut

    Beautiful, like my homeland, Scotland
