@Zonaverdi. If you knew the first thing about Sting, you'd have your answer. I agree with those who say stay away if you don't like them. I've never understood people who dislike something but feel compelled to visit links that contain said material and then feel like they need to share that dislike. No wonder Sting was so misanthropic when he originally wrote these songs. People like you.
@Zonaverdi Its simple then...dont listen to these versions - and dont seek out, then visit, youtube postings of them. Personally I find them very cool!
Of all the post police live performances of sting the recording of his band then in paris in 1985 is the very very best. I just love everything about it and I think it's because of the array of great musicians he is with. the whole thing is just soooo feel good. I adore the jazz parts, and there's nothing wrong with a fusion of well written pop songs with jazz. music is free and purism is uncool....too.....

I can't describe how heartbreakingly uncool these post-Police jazz-fusion covers he did are. Why would you do these songs without Copeland and Summers in the first place, let alone drench them with unecessary embellishments and all sorts of tiresome noodling and narcissism. Pathetic.

@alembicbassguy You're quite right. I listened to them in the first place out of curiosity.
