  • Publicity stunt? He was goaded into going by McCain. The original venue was at the former Berlin wall, but the White House called the German Government and asked that it be moved. How do you get 200,000, many waving American flags to stay for over an hour? The truth is you can't. Every country in Europe wants change. They are our allies. They are letting their voices known. It may not affect American politics, but the question is, "Do you dismiss your friend's opinions without thought?"

  • Same thing he did with the 75,000 at a free concert at Waterfront Park in Portland Oregon.

  • If he did, fair enough. But the trip is a total publicity stunt. The 200,000 people in the crowd in Germany wasn't spontaneuous, they arranged the event deliberatly during a festival. The basket ball with the troops was campaign footage not the journalists that weren't present there, and even ANdera Mitchel of MSNBC complained that was a "fake interview". Foreign journalists in Israel, Afghanistan & Europe complained he took only pictures not interviews with them, when it affects their counries.

  • Obama visited wounded soldiers in Iraq and at Walter Reid. Neither visit was announced. The press found out only after. This trip is not a publicity stunt but came about after being goaded by the Republicans who apparently want to have it both ways.

  • This should not have been a confusing issue in the first place. Obama is a Senator and has 300 Military Advisors with him. He wants to be Commander-in-Chief and he could not even handle this simple little problem.

  • Apparently they said he could not go with the media as his status was as state senator currently, not as the head of state.

There's a differnce. This whole trip is a publicity stunt.

Foreign journalists have complained he wouldn't take any questions from Afghanistan to /iraq, Israel and Europe. for policies that are going to affect our lives and aren't actually at all popular.

Notice, no one in Germany clapped when he said Europe had to sign up troops in Afghanistan & Pakistn.
