@bonzoleum Great question! As a drummer I was going to ask this as well. How did you do it with the Zep tribute band Terry? Did you do a stick click count in as well? How does Bonham do it live?

@vtskier777 As you said, it varies. Mainly cause they didn't record to a click. So it's pointless to count really. You can hear Bonham click his sticks before he comes in though so keep and ear out for that

you look like such a twat but good video
-
@TheJJDrums could be because of rim shots^^

I found your acting in the video hilarous! And it was very helpful, thank you!
Hi, I'm a guitarist and I love zeppelin and Bonham's playing is unique. You're work is awesome to and I need your help. Wich is the right way to count the beat after Plant solo part between verses? Thanks!:-)

@rockit1985 It's not in straight time really. You can hear Bonham use a stick click to indicate when the drums/music are about to begin.

It's instruction like yours that make me wish youtube had been around in the 80's!
I could have avoided the bruised knuckles I got from my old-school instructor for missing tempo changes and botching fills.
I was self taught for my first two years and while I had fun playing, it also gave me plenty of time to pick up bad habits technique-wise that were hard to break once I started trying to cover guys like Bonham and Peart.
Anyway, your tips are great. Thanks for the good vids!

I really like your videos. They teach the stuff straight forward and the video is great to learn and follow along. You are very talented. Keep them coming. Just a simple request. Get yourself a cheap wireless microphone with a lavelier clip so we can hear your instruction better. Check your camera, it probably has a mic input. you plug the microphone into it. That will make your videos better for us to follow. Thanx buddy! Rock On!
