Great setup! I use the same QEDs from my Yamaha a-s700 to B&W 683s. I know it's not the best setup but I can't fault the QEDs even though people love to bag on them. As far as I'm concerned they're great and even if I had McIntosh money I'd still be getting QEDs.... it's just that they'd be from the Genesis range.

Thanks for the response. Nice setup you've got there! I picked up a B&W asw750 in the meanwhile and I am looking for a new amp(just sold the pm7003). The QED provides for some amazing transparency and precision. Copper is more 'wooly' and warm IMO. The QED works for me. Though for jazz I prefer other cables. I might buy the naim nac a5 in the future. Nothing but love for the anniversary bi-wire, though I miss a little bit of the midrange magic:).

Cant fully appreciate the sound on youtube but I have the same amp and I'll bet those speakers are wicked on the end of it :-)

The marantz is very nice indeed, good capacity, but a bit analytic and coldIMO. But then again: that might also be a good thing. I compared it with some naims of 3k which was way fuller etc. The marantz was a bit more grainy. I improved the acoutics a while ago, created some more air around the speakers. I also positioned some wooden planks behind the speakers to reflect some of te bass comming out of the ports. The roof let almost all of it through. Now the Elac's really shine:D.
