The shadowline of the crater's edge ends just a the feet of the central mount. So the central mount is in turn hit by the sunlight and makes is own shadow.
The central mount cannot be what remains of the meteorite that hit the moon surface, as it vaporized because of the high energy involved in the collision. Indeed, the central mount is caused by the elastic rebound of the moon's crust. It's like the frozen central peak wave of a stone in the water. Please forgive my english if I failed somewh

the meteorite or mound in the middle of tycho looks interesting. it has to be taller than the sorrounding crater as u can see the shadow of the craters has no effect on the middle part. interesting. or maybe just moon base lights. great scope and great vid! u truly r an astronomer

That's an extremely close up shot of the moon. What kind of equipment did you used to captured the close up scenery of the moon? Have you been able to spot the American flag yet? The area on the moon that you had focus and concentrated on has a rock feature that resembles something like an eagle.
