  • BEST BENT CRT...good one! Could I use a TIP120 transistor to increase signal or do I have to use an op amp?

  • i'm honestly not sure.... i think there is a way but i don't know how....

  • I have that same exact tv. I want to use it, but how do you get the back case off? I unscrewed the bottom 2 screws, but something on the top seems to be holding it back. Does the antenna hold it back or what?

  • i don't recall!

sometimes there's a hidden screw in the battery compartment maybe? i just rearranged my room to make space for other projects, and this thing is at the bottom of it all, so i can't look at it

  • Also, are you using a sine wave for the horizontal input or a sawtooth wave. If you are using a sawtooth, can you send me the circuit?

  • uhh, check out my page at circuibent dot wikispaces dot com, go to the advanced bending section and there's a page on this project... i had to add an amplifier to get the waves large enough, but it's cool because the volume knob controls the size of the waves now.

BTW this project is dangerous unlike normal circuit bending so be careful!

my e-mail address is my username at gmail if you want direct links... youtube won't let me post them!

  • It's usually an SK-1 or an MT with the guys at Homestar Runner.

  • They use a Casio keyboard for the Homestar theme. I'm not sure if it's an SK-1, but i'm tempted to say it is.

  • Sounds like the Homestar Runner "everybody everybody" song mixed with the Mick Jagger moog theme for Kenneth Anger's "Invocation of my Demon Brother"

  • hey man, there is a website posted in the video description (can't post websites in comments unfortunately) go to advanced bending then click on TV oscilloscope and there will be a link to the amp scheme i used. if i remember correctly it's a simple 386 op-amp....

you should get a splitter, split the sound signal, send half to your speakers unchanged, and the other half should run thru the op-amp and into the TV.

make sure everything is properly grounded and good luck!

  • i have a gpx tv exactly like that one, but in black.

  • I just figured it out today. There were two additional screws inside the handle at the top. Silly me!
