i managed to watch kilauea errupt in person when i was over in hawaii windsurfing...was a great thing to watch

Madam Pele'

Serpents of smouldering cinders crawled slowly to the sea,
The power of Madam Pele is finally unleashed finally set free,
As the Mauna Loa spewed relentlessly through the Hawaiian night,
Bathing the island in a zesty tangerine glow; so angry and bright,
Threatening anyone who may get in the way of her dancing path,
Warning distant ships and Oceans to be cautious of her wrath.

I remember hearing about the eruption and seeing some footage on TV when I was very small. We should be very happy that Mike put these on here for us to see how these types of volcanos behave and how the islands of Hawai'i formed over many 10's of millions of years. Cool!
