Was going for a very subtle ombre haircolor effect using developer only and SoftSheen Carson Dark & Lovely 'Sunkissed Brown' & 'Golden Bronze'. The ombre hair color trend is basically any gradient of color that fades from dark to light. This spring/summer trend proved to be a hit in the beauty and fashion world as women opted for the 'in dire need of a touch up look' by keeping their natural roots dark and gradually lightening the ends of the locks.

This was my FIRST time coloring any type of extensions, so I INTENTIONALLY did not want to use bleach in this process.

Products Used:

-Genesis Virgin Brazilian Wavy Hair in 16, 18, & 22 inches (Bottom two layers only dyed)
-Roux Porosity Control Corrector Conditioner
-30 Volume Developer
-Two Sided Mixing Bowl
-Hair Color Brushes
-SoftSheen Carson Dark & Lovely 'Sunkissed Brown' Haircolor
-SoftSheen Carson Dark & Lovely 'Golden Bronze' Haircolor
-Red/Gold Corrector Haircolor Additive Packet

  • Very helpful. Maybe the best out all of the ombre tutorials.

  • @MsIconic thanks! this comment just made my day :))))

  • How did you know how far up to go with the color? B.t.w.- Very informative video!!!

  • @InnocentBeautii thanks you! i honestly just kinda gauged it. I kind of divided it into thirds, colored the bottom third with the lightest color, colored the middle section brown, & left the top third section its natural color.

  • I want to do the ombre effect on my weave but I just my tips to be a maroon or dark red and. how can I do the ombre effect with black hair at the top and brownish redish dye.

  • i've never done this so do you mix the dark and lovely ingredients and then add a developer????? or do you mix just the colorant with developer?

    ????

  • yes by far the best ombre tutorial, it looked so professional at the end, and not some tacky platinum blonde, i LOVED IT!!!

  • hello thanks for video. how much was the shipping charge for the hair from genesis?

  • so this is "real hair" I would like to try on my own hair, but I'd go to a professional. the color is beautiful

  • VERY helpful ,

the frank ocean helps too ((:

  • I love love love this video this is the ombre effect i was looking for not to blond something natural. if i add the bleach how long do you think i should leave it on for? and do you think i can still get that look without adding the colors just beach??

  • I have done this with my extensions before and had a similar experience as you using developer only on the 18inches... It helps to sit the hair in front of a heater... I covered the hair in foil and sat it in front of a heater and achieved the look I wanted.

  • thankx for pisting this vid! :D
