Kanchi Sankaracharya meet Amritanandamayi Devi

His Holines Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swami--the 69th Sankaracharya1 of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu--visited Amritapuri Ashram today. The Kanchi Acharya met with Amma privately for 45 minutes before addressing the Amritapuri Ashram residents in the Main Hall for another 45 minutes.

somehow i feel intensely moved when looking at the Swami. Who is he? Is he a good, bonifide Swami?

I spent a year at the ashram a few years ago, and at the end of chanting the 1000 names of the Divine Mother, this song was often sung. It is the story of how the Divine Mother, who created not only Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, but the demonic deities as well, comes to the rescue of the world when the demonic forces threatened to overtake the worldly realm. The Divine Mother laughed as her own creation (the demonic forces) attempted to destroy Her, their very Creator. Needless to say, She won. LOL
