Natural Hair: Roller Setting Straight Natural Hair

This is a quick video on how I achieve bouncy curls with straight hair. My hair was too flat, so instead of curling it with a curling iron (more heat) I decided to roller set it on magnetic rollers. I used tresemme naturals...that is it.

I wanna try this! What hooded dryer do you use? Everybody's talking about ceramic this and ceramic that... do they even make ceramic hooded dryers??? lol *natural newbie in training*

@TheEbonyDiaries -hi! I used a basic Vidal Sasoon hooded dryer (It was $25)...i had for 6 years now. :) I think it has an ion setting,but it isnt anything special.

Hi Jess. I am new to your channel. I think I came across your channel when I was newly natural a little more than a year ago. I have a coarser texture of hair with more zig zags than defined curls like yours. At the time I thought I had to search out people who had my type hair, but I have learned that is not true. hi i loooooooooove your hair so beautiful but i have a suggestion since you were talkin about having body and volume i feel like you would have more volume and body at the top of your head if you rolled under...just a suggestion but you should try it

I was a little girl in the 60s. Roller sets were just how you styled your hair, period. Of course, in the years since, we've had blow dryers and curling irons, but the roller set was never improved upon. Blow drying & curling irons are both inefficient because you're putting too much time into each piece of hair. Why not just roll up all those pieces of hair & dry them all at once, either under a bonnet or in the air? Plus the result is ALWAYS better! Thanks for your video! (You're very pretty!)

beautiful. who would have thunk it? conditioner for a setting. i used to love wet sets when i was on 'crack'. i'm definitely inspired to try roller sets now...thanks so much for this. your hair is gorgeous~
