The debt or the populations of the country's aren't variables if you look at the size of an economy. The USA is without a doubt the richest country in the world(Not per capita but as a whole) today. It can be verified objectively that this is the case. The debt only tells you if an economy can sustain it's size, it can tell something about the future. But that issomething diferent.

Holland isn't a country

WOW!
USA is really rich if you don't count the poor..

@staceyrox360 He's French number 1. Also NZ isn't that rich by GDP, but has good distribution. Norway has good distribution, but again not very rich by GDP. The UNITED STATES is the world's richest country by GDP, and 10th per capita, however they're in debt so yeah they'll get to a poor state eventually. Also although US is 10th in GDP per capita, money is still not distributed all that equally. Rich people are insanely rich, while the poor population is rather high.

@Falarahschulz Norway is the 3rd richest European country per capita (How the money is distributed among civilians), but US has the most money overall out of all countries, but yes they are most in debt also.

@Th3newper1 Sweden has only 333billion dumbass.

That means sustaining flashy cars and houses by the US courtesy of China financing.

@timesplitters333 China will soon overtake United States as the world's richest country because of its fast growing economy, which is above 10 % every year. Don't underestimate China.

@MyLyfe4JROC I agree with you about the U.S being debt, but I'm looking at this in a different perspective. The U.S is still the richest country on in the world, because it has the world's largest economy, which by the way is a quarter of the global economy. The U.S. economy maintains a very high level of output in per capita. United States is home to the world's largest stock exchange. That's how I approach. The reason why America is in debt, it's because governments borrow from overseas.
