Cholera is spreading throughout Iraq, with half of the 18 provinces affected, Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah being the hardest hit.

Over 3,000 people have been infected with the disease, according to the World Health organisation, but it's estimated that number could be much higher, and as many as 30,000 people could now be suffering from Cholera.

Al Jazeera's cameras have travelled to a remote area of Al Anbar province.

  • souljaEXVOTO - Amen to what you wrote. It is too bad that the criminals in the White House won't be forced to live in Baghdad or some other Iraqi city or town and have to suffer as they have made the Iraqis suffer.

Better yet, they should all be tried and convicted in the Hague for war crimes and spend the rest of their miserable lives behind bars.

  • Convoys bringing vital aid? Where did you get the idea that convoys were bringing anything useful to the Iraqi's?

  • Research thimerosal as a preservative in vaccines and its connection to autism.Tons of info on the FDA govt website.Feds know about it and consider it an acceptable to risk a few kids getting autism,to benefit the population protection from other diseases like measles, mumps and whopping cough.

  • Ungrateful indeed..... but you know the "General" said progress was on the march so I guess the Brita pitchers will be arriving any day. They need to learn some patience.......

  • The US liberates them from a cruel dictator and the only way that they show their appreciation is by dropping dead from communicable disease. The Iraqis are so ungrateful.

  • 1. I did not say it was a crazy idea. 2. You have provided nothing but an entertaining rant.

  • crazy Idea? Get over yourself... I have provided exactly just that.

  • That's funny. I thought we were the ones destroying stuff. That's what you do in a war right? Bomb things and kill people?

  • Has anybody looked into the food sources? We all need a certain amount of microorganisms in order to have a healthy immune system. B. subtilis and Saccharomyces boulardii have been used for several years against cholera. It is a cheap and inexpensive way to treat the problem. My guess is that they are eating foods with little or no beneficial bacteria. This problem should be taken care of in a natural way. Don't fall for the immunization shots!
