read who made the wall.
Stalin offered to have W.Berlin reunited as a voting populace, BUT, The W.Allies did not like Stalin winning votes.
therefore, BERLIN WALL. so who's the "free" ones really here?
-
Fun Fact: Stalin was the one who wanted to reunite Germany in 1952 and he wanted to have free elections but the Western powers refused because they were afraid that the communists would win. Subsequently the wall was built. Stalin made this offer 3(!) times and it was turned down.

Though somewhat resembling of Communism/Socialism, the Soviet states/influenced states were only Communist/Socialist in name.
Communism (and more specifically Marxism/Engelism) does not reflect a formulated state. In Communism, there is no state. With every individual wanting to advance the world as a whole, nations "naturally dissolve." So, I would actually say, it was just the greedy individuals under a different "name."

Harm was, when here these Germans sent people in gas chambers, and the right to occupation of Germany by armies of the USSR was from the moral and legal point of view has been proved and it is fair
And about bravery it is not necessary, I were brave the grandfather and the great-grandfather, rescued the whole world from gas chambers of Germans, instead of these which have run on the West to guzzle was more tasty, after all the hungry USSR couldn't contain also, as the USA

The city Berlin has a Slavic not a German name. Think about Berlin how it is similar to the city of Lublin. It does not have a burg or other Germanic endings. I think it comes from an old Slavic word meaning bog or marsh. The slavic languages have words that sound like berl or brlog. Meaning fishing village or bog or swamp/meadow. The etymology of Brandenburg comes from Slavic brenna also meaning swamp. It is 100% Slavic not German, ironically.
This is a bit brief, isn't it ?

Yes - we can blame communism! It was the evil of communism that built this wall and maintained it for almost 30 years! Never again! Nie wieder! ANd it was the resolve of NATO and the courage of the East German people that shook the wall and brought it down
