Okay, so a while back I put up a joke video of the Titanic whistles being sounded (I was nice enough to put the real thing at the end of the video, though).
STILL, people were ingrates about it and sent me nasty messages.

So I've decided to make amends and upload (for once) something that is what it says it is :

*drum roll* the actual whistles from that grand old lady of the ocean!

This sound was recorded many years after the ship itself got the big finger, of course. The whistles were used at a factory of some description, before being obtained by a whistle collector.

I'm putting this on Youtube because it's not up already and because ship whistles crack me up. BOOOO, BOOOO, HOOOT HOOOOOT!!!! Hahaha.

I hope that the owner of this sound sees this, and in a fit of rage, decides to go one better and record an actual video of the whistle in use.

Cheerio!

  • Whistle or horn?

  • Definitely a whistle; rather, a set of 3 whistles. If you look up 'Normandie whistle', you should see a similar set being blown in a street somewhere.

  • You're quite right - I should've inserted a sequence where the Captain of the Mauretania hits the self destruct button and the ship explodes, leaving a permanent 6-mile whirlpool in the middle of the ocean.

How dumb can you be, looking up a ship whistle video and then getting bored because it's just a ship's whistle?
