Katie and I discuss our day while on board Breda 3233, in service as a Blue Line train to Franconia-Springfield. We rode from Federal Center SW to Pentagon City. We discuss the volleyball game, the Iwo Jima Memorial ("Long sidewalk is long!"), and Metro's goings-on.
Note: The person named "Rosann" that I mention is Katie's mother, who, in departing, told me not to hurt a hair on her head. Not to worry - I didn't hurt a single hair, but my coworkers accidentally beaned her a few times with wayward volleyballs during a game on the National Mall...
And most importantly, I coin Metro's newest advertising slogan: "Authentic Metro: We know how to single-track!" Every time Katie's been up here, we've been stuck in single-tracking somewhere, somehow.
People bitch about construction, but the reality of the situation is that the system needs maintenance or it will fall apart.
