Only the "main lander Jap" protest the US being on Oki....for the most part the Okinawa's love us...I had tons of Jap friends why I was there for 7 years before the war brought me back to the states ;-(

@DgrThaDon I grew up there too. 5015-A right behind the pool and water tank right next to the acess road that went up to the radar station.

I'm moving to Oki in about 6 months I have a million questions! Did you bring your dog over from the US? How was it? Did you call the housing office and request the petfriendly place before you went? We have two cats and need a petfriendly place. Did you start all you Animal Quarentine stuff really soon before you left or did your dog have to stay in a kennel and the AQS?

OMG!!! i grew up here! i just was curious and typed in mc.t into search, thats bechtel elementry school i went there. Its crazy all the memories i have just seeing this video. And i remember they had the pool up there past the school and the basketball courts, and the youth center down by the fire station is that stuff still there? What about the shoppette/7 day store down the street?

I'm curious my husband is there now and i'm waiting for my orders to come over there they should be coming this week sometime! Anyways he is an E-4 Marine on Foster and we dont have any children but we do have one small dog. He told me the probability will be that we will get an apartment but how did you get an apartment that you could have your dog?

@SDcwgrl55 Your husband has to let housing know that you have a pet. Its not a guarantee that you will get pet housing but they try to accommodate you. Pets are only allowed in the multiplex or townhomes, not in the towers. You may have an option of living off base if nothing is available...I heard that housing is at 95% right now.
