Days before receiving the Pulitzer Prize for history, historian Annette Gordon-Reed delivered remarks at the grand opening ceremony of the Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center and Smith Education Center at Monticello. Gordon-Reed, also the recipient of the 2008 National Book Award for "The Hemingses of Monticello," is introduced by Leslie Greene Bowman, president of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation.
