Well, finally, here's the first full kung fu movie upload on this channel, Ng Sze Yuen's biopic, "Bruce Lee The Man, The Myth."

Like most of the "Brucesploitation" movies made in the '70's (following Bruce Lee's passing), the star of this movie is Taiwanese gymnast/martial artist, Ho Tsung Tao, rechristened "Bruce Li" (as most of us old school HK action fans in the U.S. know and remember him.)

Actually, as Bruceploitation goes, this one isn't too bad. This movie stays clear of exploiting the alleged affair between Bruce Lee and Betty Ting Pei and the fight scenes are well staged.

That said, like all Brucesploitation flicks, not one mention is made of Bruce Lee's real life U.S. students and friends (or even his siblings! You'd get the impression that he was the only child in these movies, when in fact, he had sisters and a younger brother.)

And of course, everyone in "Bruce Lee The Man The Myth" has the most contemporary, up to date 1970's hair styles and clothing, even though Bruce Lee left Hong Kong in 1958(!) and attended college in Seattle in the early 1960's!

Oh well, it's still fun...and what's great is that this particular gem is in the Public Domain.

Enjoy! (More old school HK kung fu, as well as Japanese chambara to be uploaded here soon.)

  • I luv this film. Used to watch it to get phsyched up for my karate class. Then my sen-sei would smack me upside the head for making Bruce Lee kung-fu noises. ahh those were the days. Thanks sooo much for this upload.

  • @Dav777 My pleasure. The tricky thing was, the movie itself is in the Public Domain...but the music in it isn't! LOL! Well, You Tube let me post it anyway. Yeah, this flick brings back fond memories of my youth too (for me, it was tae kwon do class back in the early '80's.)

    More to come soon!

  • i take it the old boy at the beginning is ip man? do u notice they never double up on punches like boxers?

  • @fliprack To be fair, this is movie choreography (and old school at that.) I have seen a wing chun sparring session where one guy did double up with one hand, while holding his opponent's hand with the other. (Kind of like "dirty" boxing.) Off subject of wing chun, but still kung fu, I know that choy lay fut practitioners double up with their lead, similar to a double jab.

  • I remember this film from my childhood and the voice acting is pure entertainment on this one haha but one question I had one bruce lee movie on castette tape in 1996 I cant remember what its called but I remember it for an iconic scene where bruce lee is kicking big rocks and its to do with some kung fu studio rivalry or something...

  • @the5thlegend Kicking rocks? Hmmm...doesn't ring a bell, but perhaps some of the subscribers here can answer that one.

  • @RMphilmacrac & @the5thlegend......Umm correct me if i'm wrong but it might just be the final scene of "WAY OF THE DRAGON" when he's up against CHUCK NORRIS, from memory i think it was in some old rock ruins somewhere??

    Any other other thoughts??

  • Simply the best...luv this film!!

  • i loved this film when i was a young boy.. its not the real bruce lee.. this is the best look alike they ever found.. the only look alike that have some of the real style and look like bruce lee.

  • In the end the Brice Lee died in the grave yard. I was crying too much and my heart is broken.

  • I,ll Never Understand is in the Late 60,s and Early 70,s Everybody was Trying To beat Bruce and there Was Many Serious Fights on the Sets where the Extra,s would Get really Hurt Too! But why isn,t there ONE Real Fight Captured on FILM?.this Has always Drove Me Crazy!Bruce Lee Beat the Shit out of alot of Guys on the Set and Would Knock Them Out Cold! BUT" why Didn,t One Person get at Least Just ONE Real' Fight on Film? Can You Imagine How Many People Would Love to See This??

  • Some of the best acting I've ever seen
