There is no federal mandate concerning the audible sound of warning sirens. Basically as long as it gets peoples attention it's a go. The people of Mcalester were asked via a city wide poll what tone they could hear best. 80% of the town indicated the hi-lo. We are trying to give people adequate warning, not cater to the siren geeks.
